My Mommy Tip of the week

This week my tip is really just something we do that works for us!!
I Use 2 different diaper pails.
I got a diaper Gennie for my Baby shower and it works GREAT keeping the smell down BUT the cost of the refills are CRAZY!! It is over 6.00 each. When Rayanne was first born I used Just the Diaper Gennie and was chaging the refill around every 3 weeks. That was CRAZY so now we use the diaper Gennie for just Poop Diapers and use a trash can with wal-mart bags (FREE) for the pee diapers. This has cut back the need for changing the refills to only every 3 months or so!!
SO this is our way of Saving even just a little on the Diaper disposal!
What do you do?

Easy Quesadillas

Tonight for supper I'm trying a new recipe!! I thought I woud share I with you, I found this on another blog and its sounds real easy!

Easy Quesadillas
10 flour tortillas
non-stick cooking spray
3 oz cream cheese, softened
1 Tablespoon taco seasoning
filling: beans, chicken, beef, etc...about 2 cups
2 cups shredded cheese (your choice)

Heat skillet over medium low heat. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese and taco seasoning together until well combined; set aside.

Remove two (2) flour tortillas from bag and spray one side of one tortilla with non-stick cooking spray (if you don't have this, use butter or olive oil, your choice), place the 2nd tortilla on top.

Using the back of a spoon, spread about 1 Tablespoon of cream cheese mixture over the tortilla. Spread thin layer of cooked beans or meat over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of shredded cheese over the bean/meat layer.

Separate the tortilla from the oily one beneath it and place it into the heated skillet. Place the oily tortilla over the cheese layer, oily side out. After about 1-2 minutes, carefully flip the tortilla so the other side can brown. Remove the quesadilla from the skillet to rest and so the cheese can finish melting.

Continue making quesadillas. Cut them into quarters or sixths. Serve with guacamole, salsa and sour cream.

My mommy Tip of the Week

Have you ever been in a hurry and go to get dressed When you realize your(or the kids or even Hubby's) clothes are WRINKLY instead of getting out the iron and waiting for it to heat up then forgetting to unplug it not too mention actually finding time to iron the shirt, Simply Throw them in the dryer with a damp washcloth and a fabric sheet, dry them for about 5-10 mins and then just shake them good when you pull them out and they will be at least 80% less wrinkly!!
Since I stared doing this I only use my iron when sewing!!

MY COUPON BINDER

I made myself a coupon binder organizer, there are lots out there for sale for like$ 35.00 and right now I don't want to spend money on something I can make!
HOW I MADE MY COUPON BINDER
1st I needed a Binder
(I found an old trapper keeper from when i taught a wed. night class put in a plastic 3 ring binder)
2nd I need something to hold my coupons
(I found some of my hubby's old baseball card empty sheets)
3rd I needed to label the sheets
(I took some label stickers and folded them over and let them hang over the edge of the sheet)
4th It was ready for my coupons
(2 coupon per slot, one on each side)
Right now my binder only has 10 pages so it only holds 180 coupons which is great for now.
Now when I need a coupon, I just flip the pages until I find what I need,
So far it works great.
Today I sat down to match my sales fliers with my coupons and it was soo much easier and when I went to shopping I took my binder with me and that was alot easier then sorting through them from my little baggies.
It was a fun project to make and I hope to get lots of use out of it.
I'll post pictures of it later.

My mommy tip of the Week!

Every Friday I'm going to post
"MY MOMMY TIP OF THE WEEK"

When Bathing my girls sometimes it takes forever to rinse their hair out, and there is always lots of bath toys laying in the tub after they get out.
Today's Mommy tip is . . .
when bathing your little ones try using a 2 qt pitcher to rinse out their hair and then when bath time is over the pitcher can hold all the Bath toys!!
Pretty simple solution if you ask me!!

POTTY TRAINING!!!!

I am starting to potty train my littlest princess
well I wouldn't really call it potty training but we are introducing it to her.
Rayanne is only 14 months old (well she will be on the 13th of Jan)
and lately she has been making the farting sound with her mouth when she poops in her diaper.
this has been going on for about 2 weeks now, so I thought well maybe she does know when she is pooping, so I brought down the potty chair, cleaned it up and put it outside the bathroom door on Sunday Night.
All week she has been pooping in her diaper and coming and telling me. (crawling since she does not walk yet)
when you ask her if she has to go potty she will start crawling towards her potty. I have been putting her on it everyday this week, probably at least 5 times each day and nothing has happened yet.
UNTIL
Today she was in her high chair and she started making her sounds, so I thought well be better go change you since you pooped and to my surprise there was not poop in the diaper!! so I put her on her potty in within 2 mins she POOPED IN THE POTTY!!!!!
Well I know she is really young to be doing this and it might just been a coincidence that I caught her in time but for now I am excited about it!!!
Time will really be able to tell if she really is ready now or not!!

Eatin from the pantry Challenge

I have been reading lots of blogs tonight and found some great ones that I now follow.

the $5dinners mom is doing the "eating from the pantry challenge!"
I LOVE this Idea so that is what we are going to try.

It is simply taking an inventory of your freezer and pantry and plan meal from what you got with only buying the essentials and very very good coupon deals

Onceamonthmom.com has a freezer worksheet that I printed out to make taking the inventory easier.

I also found some ways to better couponing.
right now I'm just starting get the hang of it. sometimes having good luck others not so much.

will be blogging Lots (I HOPE)
I'm also just getting lot of ideas on what I want to blog about and I think I'm going to do lots of different things.
I'm going to try to link tat speadsheet. if it doesnt work I will try try again.

Goals

THis is really the first year that I have ever felt the need to make sooo many changes in our lives.

1.) We are going to really work hard on our Finances

2.) I want to make healthy foods for us and save money and time while preparing

3.) We are going to be giving the girls allowances. They are 5 & 7 now so I think they can handle a little resonsibality.

4.) I would love to lose weight, which I think will come off just by eating healthier and beign more active which leads to our next change

5.) Being more active as a family. Last year we go into Geocaching and would love to do more of that and do more family activities that dont cost much. (that is the key!!)

6.) Last but not least
to Potty train the youngest. (wich will save us even more!!)

I know by posting this I will having something to look back to during the year and keep posting the progress to these goals!

ALLOWANCE

The start of a new year means Lots of New things!!
The oldest 2 princesses are ready to start earning money by doing chores.
we are going to start out real basic then next year a little more and so forth.
this year the girls will be required to fill out a little chart each nite.
all they are required to do is pick up their room daily - read a book each day - and do 1 job around the house.
Then every Sunday they can CASH IN their charts for $1.00.

We have tried other Chore charts and they didn't work so I'm excited about this one I think it will work!!!

I'll keep you posted on how it goes!!
