Saving on hotel stays!

Every year in March or April we have taken the girls to a hotel to swim away the winter blues!!
This year for our Mini overnight Winter Vacation we are going to Erie, Pa. (our daughter has an eye Dr apt on Monday afternoon there, since it is around 1.5 hours away we always like to plan something to d when we are there)

I decided that I wanted to save lots of money on this stay!! OF COURSE!!

I thought I would share a few tips on how I save money on hotel rooms.

tip 1 - Book online using traveling planing sites! I used hotels.com this time since I wanted a hotel that had a indoor pool. but if you just need to stay in a certain location and really have no specific amenities you can use hotwire or priceline to save even more!!

tip 2 - Book within a week of staying for even more savings!! Hotels offer extra discounts for last min booking!!!(I save 20% off our hotel stay next week just for waiting until today to book) This isn't really best to do if you are planing on staying during a busy season.

tip 3 - go though ebates when you plan on booking and get 3% cash back when you book at hotels.com and earn 1% back at expedia.com
(EBATES is a website that you can earn cash back when shopping online)


by using these tips I saved over 30% off the room rate (from thier site)
plus I earned 3% cash back!!

Saturday Plans

My hubby has been working all week on night shift and has not gotten to see the oldest 2 princesses all week. (he is sleeping when they go to sleep and he leaves for work before they get home from school)

so he wanted to do something special with them tomorrow
so we are taking them to Home Depot at 9am for their free kids workshop then we are going to take them to the the Movie Theater for their Cartoon Saturday morning show.

Every Saturday the movie theater at the Cranberry Mall Shows kids movies at 10am for just $1.00.
this Saturday the movie is going to be Jungle Book. Which the girls have not seen!

They are very excited.

Then we are going to take them out for lunch.
